Looking forward to Summer!
Summer is looking fabulous! And the crew here with Innovative Interiors is looking forward to quite a few jobs. Mary Haling has come through as a great asset and we just finished a kitchen for the Myers, and now we have a bathroom to remodel in Denver.
Diane, with Montagne Interiors is cranking out the clients and we start a basement/wet bar remodel this week! Waiting in the wings to be signed is a living room remodel, a kitchen, and almost an entire house in the Genesse area Busy, busy, busy!
Also of note, if you would like to see a new venture for us check out concretethinking.weebly.com
So thanks to all the great people that have been sending work our way! Keep it coming, this is what motivates us and keeps us enjoying our work!

How to chose poorly...
While researching concrete and determining the proper size for vanity countertops, I discovered ten helpful ways to buy things poorly....
1. Choosing the Floor Model's Sizing.
2. Buying For Looks Not Function.
3. Settling For Less.
4. Forgetting to Customize the Floor Plan.
5. Losing Out on Details
6. Using the Wrong Lighting.
7. Under Budgeting.
8. Awkward Door Swing
9. Faulty Installation.
10. Assuming It Fits!
And there you have it, ten simple ways to not get what you want.

Wed nes day (random)
A few things on the docket today. Retrieve borrowed tile saw, install ledger stone at Montage Designs, work on some marketing, continue the process of making a business run.
I did some reading last night, unusual right? and there are some really neat products out there in the sustainability category. Photovoltaic technology that uses a phosphate and cobalt and platinum in a chemical reaction to create electricity and store it! Check out this blurb. The green optimist for more info and all the techie stuff.
And a photo of me doing some of my own remodeling! Check out that Saturday morning hair... yikes!

Remodeling Is Strange Business
Remodeling has always been a balance between craftsmanship and relationship. We are in a strange business; we come into a family system that resides in a house, which is a system, and we bring a lot of change in a short amount of time. we bring some dust and a few loud noises along the way. To be successful at what we do we have to focus on craftsmanship and relationship. Remodeling is a strange business.
Its a Brave New Year
Well 2010 is off to the usual crawl of a pace which is allowing us to focus on things like research and systems and organization and efficiency and of course blogging! So here it goes, we're off!
For the next while we will be posting our research and insight into the world of remodeling.
Happy reading!
